MY STORY
Jacqueline Janae Jones also known as "Jackie Janae" or "JJ", was born just 12 miles outside of Chicago in the Suburb of Bellwood, Illinois. At the tender age of 4, her maternal grandmother taught her how to braid her dolls hair while sitting at the dentist office. That was a defining moment for JJ, because it was then that her love for haircare and styling was birthed. From that point and throughout her childhood, she would spend countless number of hours, cutting, curling, braiding and styling her dolls hair. It became her most favorite pastime.
By the time JJ entered high school, her practicing hair care in her dolls hair ultimately evolved to her actually caring for her family and friends hair. This is where she started gaining her real world experience of hair care.
Her first job was working at a hair salon as a shampoo girl, where she was able to observe all of the professional stylist working in their craft and customer care. As JJ was completing her senior year of high school, it was apparent to all who knew her that her love for hair care had became her passion. Although JJ's likely path to take upon completion of high school was to attend cosmetology school, she took a different path and joined the U.S. Air Force. Her passion for hair care has prove to be an invaluable skill to have for many.In January 2022, Jackie enrolled at the world renowned Paul Mitchell the school, San Antonio as a future professional to pursue her certification and license in hair, skin and nail care. Jackie is currently serving in the military full time, and pursuing hair part time.
